GW 12 – unbeaten Sirius travel to Brommapojkarna
Mjällby–AIK: the round opens at Strandvallen
The round kicks off Saturday as Mjällby AIF host AIK. The hosts are unbeaten in three – though all three ended level. Mjällby want to control possession, while AIK hold the edge in ball recovery (0.24 xG within eight seconds) and on corners (6.5 vs 4.9 per match).
Elliot Stroud remains the league's most dangerous creator at 0.58 xT per match, while AIK's Áron Csongvai ranks fourth in the same metric (0.41). Historically AIK dominate: 13 wins to 5 across 26 meetings since 1983.
Brommapojkarna–Sirius: can anyone stop the leaders?
Sunday's meeting in Grimsta is the round's toughest test for IK Sirius. The Uppsala side lead on 29 points, are unbeaten in 16 and have scored in 25 straight. Sirius own the league's best defence (1.0 xGA per match) and best chance creation (0.06). Robbie Ure tops the entire league for expected goals at 0.59 per match.
Brommapojkarna are unbeaten in four, but press least high up the pitch – the league's fewest ball recoveries in the attacking half (22 per match). Sirius have won six of the last eight meetings, and they tend to be high-scoring: 3.9 goals per match on average.
Gais–Elfsborg: a goal feast in Gothenburg?
At Gamla Ullevi, two sides whose meetings historically produce goals collide – 3.5 per match across 84 encounters. Gais have the league's best counter-press (0.57 xG within eight seconds of winning the ball), win the most balls high (40 per match) and have scored in eight straight. Elfsborg are winless in five, yet have scored in twelve straight. Róbert Frosti Þorkelsson (Gais) ranks fifth for shot assists (2.5 per match).
Hammarby–Kalmar and Malmö–Göteborg: attack meets crisis
Hammarby host Kalmar backed by the league's sharpest attack: highest xG per match (2.1) and highest field tilt (0.72). Paulos Abraham sits fourth in xG (0.51). Kalmar's weakness is build-up play – the league's worst (0.31) – but Charles Sagoe Jr creates shots like few others (2.5 shot assists per match). Kalmar lead the head-to-head 25–14, and the games are high-scoring (3.1 per match).
In the classic Malmö–Göteborg, two underperforming sides meet. Malmö have 16 points, two straight wins and goals in seventeen consecutive matches, against Göteborg's 10. But the visitors' Tobias Heintz is the league's second most dangerous creator (0.54 xT per match). 161 meetings and a 3.0-goal average promise entertainment.
Battle in the lower table: Örgryte–Häcken and Västerås–Degerfors
Örgryte host Häcken on Saturday evening with heavy numbers behind them: winless in nine, the league's weakest defence (2.2 xGA) and lowest field tilt (0.38). Häcken, third on 20 points, have scored in eleven straight and won the last two meetings. Amor Layouni (Häcken, #3 in xT at 0.5) and Michael Parker (Örgryte) are the men to watch.
In Västerås–Degerfors, 15 points meet 10. Degerfors are winless in seven and post the league's lowest xG (0.87) and weakest chance creation. The hosts' Mikkel Ladefoged ranks fifth for xG per match (0.5).
Djurgården–Halmstad: Monday's finale
The round closes Monday as Djurgården (16 points) host Halmstad (6). Djurgården have the league's best build-up play (0.37) and best xG from set pieces (0.24), with Kristian Lien second in xG (0.57). Halmstad arrive off two straight defeats, with the league's weakest ball recovery (0.16) and fewest box entries (9 per match). Djurgården lead the head-to-head 38–23.
